Hey guys, happy Saturday.
So…this week has been rough.
Family circumstances have not improved, and we are reaching a breaking point on several fronts.
Sorry to sound dramatic, but it’s sadly the truth.
What’s worse? I can’t do a single thing to help. No action on my end will change the directory of our circumstances.
But that doesn’t mean I’m powerless.
While I cannot help directly, I can focus on things that may lead to help in the future.
What are those, you might ask?
Simple, writing.
For the last couple years, I’ve been stuck resting on my laurels trying to get Ocean’s Heart finished so I could publish. All of that has been necessary, but it has meant that I have had little content to share. I’ve tried to offer alternate items that might be worth sharing, things that might garner interest.
In reality, I must admit those are vanity items.
My story is well defined enough I don’t need to update the character profiles on the site, nor do I need to get art for each and every character.
This is not to say I regret the time invested in them. I think they’re great fun and, when I have time, I plan to return to them.
But for now, I think my time is better spent pursuing writing with actual weight to them.
For that reason, I plan to begin writing my next project.
Editing Ocean’s Heart will continue, but since I submitted the first 50 pages to a competition, that story is currently locked in. I won’t be able to publish until September at the earliest. And that’s only if I lose.
However, another story, While Flames Fade, is currently available. The competition ended for me this week and I did not advance. For that reason, I can post that story quite soon.
So that’s the plan.
I’m going to finish up planning out this story, the first of three novellas, and start publishing chapters as soon as possible!
Currently, my hope is that I’ll be able to get the first chapter out by the end of the month. From there, I’m hoping to post another chapter the following month and so on.
All the while, I’ll also continue editing Ocean’s Heart, so it’s ready to publish as soon as I know the result of the competition.
