Sorry for the late post.
Last week was full of drama, but it also included an interesting opportunity.
Since the drama isn’t mine, I won’t go into any details on my family’s current situation, but suffice it to say it’s a stressful time for people I care about. It’s not easy, but I’m only involved insofar as I’m trying to help them, so I’ve tried to keep going forward with writing.
Of course, that doesn’t mean it’s been easy to keep focused. Which is why I’m happy for quite an interesting diversion.
One of my writing friends, someone who’s also been there for me both as an editor and confidante, sent me this link a few days ago.
I’m not usually one for entering competitions, as I’ve never been good at writing under prompts. I don’t know why, I just have never worked well under someone else’s frame.
That said, it seemed like just the thing to help me snap out of a funk I was falling into thanks to all the drama.
So, currently working on the first round of this competition’s stories. I’m not sure how much I can share publically until the competition is over, but I can say that all the stories I write for this competition will find their way here at some point. The competition calls for an exclusivity period of 10 days. Considering this competition includes cash prizes, this seems more than reasonable.
So yeah, be sure to look forward to some new stories, depending on how far I can go in this competition!
