August: Beginning Again

Hey folks, happy Friday!

Sorry for the late post, I forgot it was Friday today and that I would need to get this out today.

The joys of an irregular work week!

Anyway, let’s talk shop! August was an interesting month in a lot of ways. One of which was…I wasn’t editing any more. That may seem mundane, but when you have been putting in the work, trying to perfect a project for nearly two years, finishing it leaves a bit of a void.

On top of that, I was waiting to see the results of a contest, a contest I really hoped to win or at least place (I did neither).

So through a mix of trepidation and listlessness, I wasn’t really quick on the draw for other things. That doesn’t mean my month was a total loss, though! I have been freshening myself up on old notes, particularly those for When Flames Fade, but also the sequel Ocean’s Heart. Once I’m done with those, I expect to be focusing on those two as my main projects. My current plan is to wait until I have a significant back log of completed and edited drafts before I post them, meaning it could still be a couple months before I share anything on the site.

But that is only because I want to make sure I don’t need to delay chapters once I start posting. Long story short, I want to be able to give bi-monthly updates for both. So one week will be Heart of Arcana, Ocean’s Heart‘s sequel, and the next will be When Flames Fade. When Flames Fade is currently estimated to be short, around 250 pages at most. That means I will probably start posting that sooner than Heart of Arcana, but only if my drive to write it is higher than Heart of Arcana.

See, I’m just going to write what I feel like for now. Working a hard set schedule has never been my strong suit, so I think having a bit of variety while also working to make progress week after week is my best bet.

As far as September goes, my plans are to begin serious work on both projects while I work to finalize details necessary for Ocean’s Heart‘s publishing. I am still waiting to hear back on the cover, and I also have a few final proofreading notes I need to resolve as well. My current hope is to have it out by October, but we shall see how long everything takes. Worst case, we are in the final stretch!

Anyway, that is all I have for now. If you’re interested in more frequent updates, consider joining my Patreon, since I like to post short updates on there every once in a while. You will also receive earlier updates to my stories as well as several other fun goodies depending on the tier. This site and my writing are entirely funded by readers like you and I appreciate each and every one of you!

God bless you all and I hope you have a great September!
