May Flowers with a Side of Restlessness: Writing Update

Hey folks, happy Sunday!

Sorry for the late post, I was planning to work on all this last week, but things have been hectic with a friend’s wedding on the horizon.

Anyway, I am sure those of you who read April’s update are hoping for good news this time. As for that, I can only say…yes and no.

Yes, things are better in some ways, but no, they did not lead to an increase in productivity. Life has those hills and valleys for progress, it feels, and I’ve been stalled by the current incline.

What’s the incline, you ask? Sadly, there is no simple answer. You see, writing independently means you have to wear many hats sometimes. Currently, I’m juggling a few and dropping several more. I need to write, but I also need to work on getting a new cover artist. I need to build a platform across social medias, but also find the time for an editor and research rates to possibly promote a crowdfunding project.

All of that and more require time, money, and effort. All three have been in short supply. I cannot say when things will get better, either, but I can at least say my outlook has improved with my health.

May has been, in many ways, a month to regain my footing.

As for my current goals, I really want to get more writing done. Many parts of publishing are a headache, after all, but writing is never one of them! I figure getting back on track with writing progress, even if it’s only a couple hundred words a day, should help me keep my head clear when I have to deal with the thousand and one other things life throws my way.

Of course, we will see how that goes! My friend’s wedding is still to come and I’m sure that will require its own time and stress.

But that is a problem for tomorrow. For now, I hope you all are doing well, and I pray we all have a wonderful June and God bless!
